I have created this blog as an online promotion for a 'digital design' module I have. I study textile design at the University of Leeds. I am going to use this blog to collect photography, art, music and generally anything i find inspiring.
Take a look around and see what you think... and please let me know...

Great impact... yet barely there...

This garment is taken from John Galliano's Summer 06 collection, in my eyes Galliano can do no wrong, but even to the non- biased eye this piece holds incredible detail. This is an example of one of his more restrained pieces; barely there in the nude colour and weightless look fabric.
The sharpness in the piece is reserved for the line edges on the diamond pattern across the stomach of the model, created by gathering to give crisp, prominent edge.

Purls to die for...

The colours, the layering, the surface pattern, everything about this collection screams Autumn/ Winter. These pieces are taken from Angela Missoni's A/W 09/10 collection form Milan fashion week in February. I think this is one of my favourite Autumn/ Winter collections of this year, the muted earthy tones which have been put together compliment each other perfectly.
The great detail in pattern is not restricted to the use of colour but comes into its own in surface pattern created by different knitting techniques using rib and pleats. The natural slouch in the material compliments the laid back ethos of Autumn and adds to the texture of the fabric and overall texture and pattern of the garments.
